Therapeutic use of AGARICUS JUN–17

 Also known as SUN MUSHROOM

AGARICUS JUN-17, contains more than twice as much vitamin, amino acid and mineral salt then there is in edible mushrooms. There have been several researches done, testing the use of A. blazei in the treatment for diseases like cancer, diabetes and even AIDS.

The following is a short description of some pharmaceutic and nutritive effects of the A. blazei Jun-17.

1. Antimutagenic effect in microorganism colonies due to the presence of linoleum acid.

2. Bactericide effect in microorganism colonies due to 13ZE-LOH.

3. Decrease in the level of glucose in the blood- experiment in rats.

4. Decrease in arterial pressure, decrease in the level of cholesterol and improvement of arteriosclerosis due to the effects of linoleum acid.

5. Antitumoral effect (sarcoma 180/rats, method IP) due to the action of polysaccharides beta-(1-3)-D-glucan, beta (1-6)-D- proteic-glucan, heteroglycan, xyloglucan acid, heteroglycan proteic compost, RNA proteic compost glucoprotein (lecithin), etc.

6. Ação anti-cancerous, inhibitor of multiplication of HeLa cells. Impediment effect in the multiplication of cancerous cells through cellular toxicity by steroids.

7. Preventive effect against cancer, due to adsorptive excretion of cancerous substances for the presence of nutritive fibers alimentícias, such as beta-D-glucan, heteropolysaccharides, etc.
